Ocean Institute Celebrates Earth Day, Children Invited to Enjoy Mural Painting with Artist Wyland
DANA POINT, CA, March 23, 2007 - Environmental artist Wyland will visit the Ocean Institute on Earth Day, April 22, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., to lead children in the painting of an ocean and conservation-themed mural. A steel drum band will provide music from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. as well.
Also as part of the Earth Day observance there will be a beach clean-up at nearby Doheny State Beach and Salt Creek Beach, 9 - 11 a.m. The event is presented in partnership with Wyland and the Surfrider Foundation, South Orange County Chapter.
On both Saturday and Sunday, April 21 & 22, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., there will be arts & crafts for children, hands-on labs, and movies showcasing the importance of conservation of our environment.
