Ocean Institute Launches Fundraising Program to Help Schools Pay for Field Trips to the Institute

DANA POINT, CA, February 23, 2009 - The Ocean Institute in Dana Point has launched a new fundraiser to assist schools in paying for field trips so they may participate in one of the Institute's award-winning ocean science or maritime history programs.

The Institute will host a private open house for a school on a weekday afternoon or evening, during which parents, students and friends of the school may participate at the regular weekend rate of $6.50 adults, $4.50 children ages 4-12. Participants can enjoy exciting exhibits, hundreds of marine creatures and presentations by Institute staff and volunteers. Half of the proceeds for the evening will be donated back to the school for use towards a field trip to the Institute.
