Celebrate Earth Day at the Ocean Institute

DANA POINT, CA, March 19, 2009 - Join with the Ocean Institute in its celebration of Earth Day, Sunday, April 19, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Learn how to track your carbon footprint and easy ways to save water, discover what a garbage gyre is, and create eco-friendly crafts. Highlights of the day include a 1 p.m. presentation by Ron Bunning, Senior Systems Integration Engineer for JPL, on the detection of greenhouse gases from space and the effect they have on our oceans.

Admission is free for those who participate in the nearby beach clean-up at 9 a.m.
