Ocean Institute to Present Stargazing and Sailing Parent-Child Overnight Adventure

March 25, 2010, DANA POINT, Calif. – The Ocean Institute is pleased to offer a Stargazing and Sailing Parent-Child overnight adventure beginning Saturday, April 17, 5:30 p.m. and ending at 12:30 p.m. the following day. Children must be a minimum age of 8, and be accompanied by an adult.In the evening, participants will explore the night sky with JPL scientist Ron Buning and other local astronomers at the Lazy W Ranch Campground, located in the Cleveland National Forest. Learn how sailors used stars to sail the seas, discover constellations using telescopes, and play a campfire solar system game. In the morning, participants will travel to the Ocean Institute for a sail aboard the Spirit of Dana Point where they will take part in the ancient art of maritime navigation.

Cost: adults, $120 (members: $110); children: $100 (members: $90); parent/child combo: $200 (members: $180).
