 2001 : Adopt-A-Class
The Ocean Institute launches the Adopt-A-Class program for disadvantaged school children in 2001.
The program is funded by corporate and individual sponsors, to provide underserved children access to the Institute's programs. Children come from Title I schools from all over the Southland, including Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Most students are in grades K-6.
