April 7, 2004 - Ocean Institute's Build-a-Boat Challenge Invites Participants to Build and Sail their Own Boat
The Ocean Institute will present its first annual "Build-a-Boat Challenge," a one-day contest in which participants design, build and race their own boats, on Saturday, June 5, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The event raises funds for the preservation of the Institute's tall ships Pilgrim and Spirit of Dana Point, and will be held in conjunction with the Dana Point Harbor Boat Show.
