ocmi2001 : Land's End Park Restoration

2001 December 15 & 16, - OCEAN INSTITUTE TO RETURN LAND'S END PARK TO A MORE NATURAL STATE
Over 200 community volunteers will be on hand at the Ocean Institute December 15 and 16 to plant approximately over 1000 native plants as part of the installation for the new Land's End Park. Representatives from local schools, Boy Scouts, community service groups, local businesses and the City of Dana Point will participate during the two-day event. The new Park, funded primarily by the California Coastal Conservancy, as an access way improvement is part of the new Ocean Education Center scheduled to open next summer. The one-third acre area serves as an important buffer between the heavy domestic uses in the harbor and the protected Dana Point Marine Life Refuge.
