Endowment -- What? Why?
An endowment fund is a permanent fund established by the Ocean Institute where families can make a gift to it, knowing that their gift will be held in perpetuity. Only a portion of the annual earnings from the fund will be used to carry on Ocean Institute programs and facilities.
It is the permanency of this fund that makes it so valuable. Only through a growing endowment will Ocean Institute friends know that Ocean Institute programs will be assured for generations to come.
