Scout Troop Programs

We have a variety of field trip options for your Scout Troop. Choose from our various school programs, our Tide Pooler Tuesday program, or our public tours given on Thursday and Friday afternoons at 3:30 PM. Please call 949-496-2274 for more information on these options: reservations required. Scouts can also visit our weekend program Saturdays and Sundays 10 AM to 3 PM. Admission is $6.50 for adults and $4.50 for children (3-12 yrs).

Field Experiences For All

Join an Ocean Institute Naturalist for an exploration of the tidepools in the Dana Point Marine Protected Area. This expanse of rocky shore is a protected area and home to a variety of ocean animals. The low tides in the winter months offer a great opportunity to learn more about this special ecosystem. Program is free with general admission to the Ocean Institute's weekend program. Sturdy closed-toe shoes are required and we recommend that you dress in layers. This activity is limited to the first 35 visitors present at program start time and appropriate for all ages 6 and up. You will be walking approximately 1 mile round trip on rocky surfaces.
