Big Al in the Lab
Grades 2-3, One hour

Big Al Goes to Sea
Grades 2-3, Two hours

Junior Scientific LiteraSEA
Grades 2-3, Two hours
Consulting the science literature before conducting an investigation is a common practice
among scientists. After exploring four very "kid friendly" science papers, students use
microscopes to learn about animal life cycles, and dissect a squid to study adaptations
and anatomy.

Pushes and Pulls
Grade 2, One hour
Students experiment with friction, gravity, leverage and force on a historic tallship! Students
investigate the properties of force and motion as they work an inclined plane and use
different pulley combinations as leverage to hoist hundreds of pounds of cargo.
