Field Trips

The Scientific ProcessA Day in the Chaparral

Grades 6-12

six hours, $37 per student, $18 per
chaperone for 25-90 participants

Step into the shoes of a scientist and discover the real world techniques used to study the world around us. Upon arrival at the Lazy W Ranch in the morning, students are introduced to scientific vocabulary as they experiment with stream tables and study insects in the river. After lunch, student teams design their own field investigations and conduct research on the trails. Research topics can be modified to suit your class curriculum.
