Come and explore the majesty and wonder of tall ships through the smells, sounds and sights of these amazing vessels. Throughout the festival we will be exploring Myths, Legends and Lore of the Sea. Mermaids will be visiting the Institute this year and will delight all ages swimming in our large tank. Also this year we are adding more interactive living-history encampments, including blacksmiths, scrimshaw artists, knot tiers, British and American revolutionary period mariners, western vaqueros from the time of the Missions and Ranchos and now three Pirate encampments! Onboard the Brig Pilgrim, watch the Naval Historical Foundation perform their amazing reenactment and have your little ones join in our Pirate Parade!

Inside the Ocean Institute, not only discover mermaids up-close but join in numerous interactive labs and activities. Explore our new courtyard with a playscape filled with giant sea creatures! Exciting maritime displays and exhibits will be throughout the facility, including our interactive woodworkers.
