Ocean Institute Names Dan Pingaro New President and CEO

Dan Pingaro

The Ocean Institute’s Board of Directors named Dan Pingaro as its new president and CEO after completing a nationwide search. Pingaro, who will assume his new position on April 24, 2017, most recently served as executive director of Laguna Beach Community Foundation (LBCF) for three years. He also served for five years as CEO and executive director of Sailors for the Sea, the premier ocean conservation nonprofit focused on the sailing and boating community. Read more here!

Second Opportunity

Meet Dan at our Open House event on Saturday, April 29 from 10 am to 12 pm. Enjoy coffee and conversation during this free to the public celebration.

Please wear your Ocean Institute name tag, they will be provided if you do not have one. 

Earth Day Celebration!

‘Bee’ Mindful

This Earth Day we will be celebrating one of the most precious resources on Earth – WATER! About 71 percent of the Earth’s surface is water-covered, and the oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth’s water (USGS Statistic – Read more here). Come to our celebration to see what your water foot print is, learn how to make your own water filter, and learn the important connection between our oceans and bees.
