E-mail blast

Happy New Year from the Ocean Institute! We have an exciting first quarter planned filled with education, adventure, and once-in-a- lifetime opportunities.

Starting in January we have two visiting tall ships from Washington. Come take part in our mock Cannon Battles aboard the Spirit of Dana Point as we “battle” these worthy opponents.

In February and March, join Ocean Institute educators and scientists from around the world to learn about exciting science careers.  Registration is now open for our annual Girls in Ocean Science Teen Conferences.  Register now, spaces fill up quickly!

Our annual Jazz Festival is March 24 and 25. Come join us for the Friday concert or the Saturday Gala. Both evenings include delicious food from area resorts and restaurants and the music of Ray Parker, Jr., Michael Paulo, Gregg Karukas, and Kevin Toney.  Tickets are on sale now.

Every week we have opportunities to explore the ocean and engage in science fun.  Explore our local tidepools with one of our experts, or join us for our fascinating weekend programming. There is something for everyone at the Ocean Institute.

Join our popular Tiny Tots: Parent & Me classes starting January 17. Come for this six week series or drop in for a single session as we explore colors, shapes, textures and more with our favorite tidepool animals.

Looking to keep your New Year’s resolution? Learn how to become an Ocean Institute volunteer at our information session on Saturday, January 7.

Start today and make make this a year full of adventure at the Ocean Institute. You’re always welcome here!
