Have a fun and safe 4th of July!

How do you make fireworks safe and fun this 4th of July? Come to Ocean Institute to find out! Join the Orange County Fire Authority at Ocean Institute to learn how to enjoy fireworks safely. The presentation includes a complete list of city sponsored fire work displays and a Q&A with real firefighters!

Fireworks safety is a serious concern around the 4th of July. In 2013, fireworks caused an estimated 15,600 reported fires in the U.S., including 1,400 structure fires, 200 vehicle fires, and 14,000 outside and other fires. According to the CPSC, more than one-third (35%) of the people seen in emergency rooms for fireworks injuries from June 20-July 20, 2014 were under 15; nine percent were under five.

Learn how to make your families 4th of July safe and fun! We haven’t forgotten the furry members of your family either. This talk will also cover pet safety and comfort during fireworks displays.
