MPA Watch Training
Good Afternoon Ocean Institute Volunteers,
Orange County Coastkeeper’s Associate Program Director, Ray Hiemstra will be conducting an MPA Watch training Monday June 18th from 6:00pm to 8:15pm at the Ocean Institute. Training will focus on how Marine Protected Areas were created, their locations, regulations, and identification of common uses. After training, volunteers are provided with binoculars, data sheets and access to an online database to document human uses observed during surveys. Concepts discussed during this training will be implemented into future O.I. programs. Anyone who is available is highly encouraged participate!
MPA Watch training schedule Monday June 18th:
PowerPoint presentation in Ecology from 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Field training at the beach/tidepools from 7:00pm to 8:15pm
