Perfect for schools or families, these programs will lead up to 10 people through an engaging and educational experience at home. Prep sheet and instructions will be sent ahead of time for parents and kids to prepare. Lessons available are listed below.

Lessons Available: 

House for a Hermit Crab Lab (1st - 2nd) - Participants will learn the difference between fact and fiction as they compare and contrast live animals at Ocean Institute with literary creatures from the book A House for Hermit Crab by Eric Carle.

Smiley the Shark Lab (2nd – 3rd) -  Participants will learn the difference between fact and fiction as they compare and contrast live animals at Ocean Institute with literary creatures from the book Smiley Shark by Ruth Galloway.

Fish Dissection (4th and up) – This lesson includes a fish dissection where participants will look at external and internal anatomy. We will explore where the fish lives, function of organs, adaptations, prey and predator relationships and, more!

Squid Dissection (4th and up) - This lesson includes a squid dissection where participants will look at external and internal anatomy. We will explore where the squid lives, function of organs, adaptations, prey and predator relationships and, more!

Renewable Energy (6th and up) – This lesson highlights the usage of renewable energy sources, such as wind, sun and water. Participants will begin by exploring energy concepts and how to harness energy from the wind. This lesson will include an at home engineering challenge.
