Junior Oceanographer
Ages 9–12

What is it like to be a marine scientist? Step into their fascinating world by exploring the principles of marine biology and oceanography. Your fun-filled day includes a two-hour Marine Wildlife Cruise on the R/V Sea Explorer and hands-on laboratory activities, including a fish dissection, microscope work, and driving an ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) in our research tank. This exciting experience will spark your curiosity as you dive into the magical marine world!

Junior Neptunes
Ages 6–8

Discover what life is like underwater as you meet “Big Al,” the fish from the popular children’s book, Big Al. Interact with the animals in our lab and conduct investigations in underwater adaptations.

You will also have the opportunity to venture out on the ocean aboard the R/V Sea Explorer, first exploring the harbor and then taking a brief trip outside to view the local sea lions.

Turtles, Sharks, & Whales
Ages 6–8

Discover the amazing worlds of sea turtles, sharks and whales! One animal is highlighted each day; sign up for a session or just a single day. Get “up close and personal” with a turtle and compare turtles of the land to turtles of the sea. Explore everyone’s favorite ocean predator to discover what separates sharks from their bony fish cousins. On whale day, investigate the largest animals in the world and their food. . . . the smallest creatures in the sea!
